Before you buy

Will my membership renew automatically?

No. Your 2027 membership is a one-off purchase and won't automatically renew.

If you're a 2026 member, your membership doesn't carry over into 2027 either - you'll need to buy a 2027 membership to join again. The Early Bird Bundle is currently the way to secure your place.

What's new for 2027?
  • Stories only games can tell: every game is chosen for great storytelling, and every game will have a release date in 2026.
  • Developer AMAs: a 45-minute Discord-exclusive AMA with each game's developer, after the monthly live podcast.
  • Micro-Indies Add-on: extra tiny indie games from emerging developers.
  • Co-op Game Club: three four-player co-op games to play together over the holidays.
  • Unboxing Edition: physical indie gaming goodies to go alongside your year of games.
How much does it cost?

The 2027 Early Bird Bundle is £89 - a £30 discount on the full price of each component, and the biggest discount we will ever give on a Slow Game Club product. There's no monthly subscription, but payment plans let you split it over up to 4 months.

When does Early Bird end?

29 October 2026, subject to availability. There are only 100 Early Bird Bundles.

Do I need a Steam account?

Yes. Games are delivered as Global Steam keys for PC, so you'll need a Steam account to redeem them. You can create one for free before redeeming your first key.

What's in the Unboxing Edition?

A curated box of physical goodies to go alongside your year of games:

  • Indie gaming goodies from our partners
  • Commissioned art prints from the Into Games community
  • Slow Game Club branded merchandise
  • Other surprises

It's delivered in time for the holidays.

What's in the Micro-Indies Add-on?

Extra tiny, undiscovered indie games from developers at an earlier stage of their journey, including developers from the wider Slow Game Club community. It's a little extra discovery alongside the main club, and it directly supports emerging developers.

What's in Co-op Game Club?

Three four-player co-op indie games, all recent releases from acclaimed developers, to play with friends over the holidays. They're made available before the full membership starts on 1st January.

Do I have to use Discord?

No. Your monthly game is delivered by email either way. But the community, developer AMAs and most of the discussion around each game happen on Discord, so you'll miss out on part of the experience without it.

Can I join from outside the UK?

Yes. Anyone can join, and Steam keys work internationally, subject to Steam's regional restrictions. Checkout supports international payments, and the Unboxing Edition ships to the UK, USA and select countries in Europe. Live events generally run on UK time, with recordings made available where possible.

About Slow Game Club 2027

What is Slow Game Club?

Slow Game Club is the indie game club for people who love great stories. Every month, members get a carefully selected indie game, alongside access to the Slow Game Club Discord community and opportunities to hear directly from the developers behind the games via a live podcast and exclusive AMA.

For 2027, we're putting stories only games can tell at the heart of the club. The games that tell stories in ways that only games can - from unforgettable characters and worlds to experimental storytelling and genuinely original ideas.

And, as always, every penny of your membership supports our work at Into Games, the UK charity helping young people from low-income backgrounds build careers in the games industry.

What's new about Slow Game Club in 2027?

We've made some big changes for 2027.

  • Stories only games can tell: 2027 is all about the best indie games for storytelling. Every game is selected because we think it's something special. Every game will have a release date in 2026.
  • Developer AMAs: Every 2027 game will be accompanied by a 45-minute Discord-exclusive AMA with the developer, taking place after the monthly live podcast.
  • Micro-Indies Add-on: Want to discover games you've probably never heard of? The Micro-Indies Add-on gives you additional tiny indie games to play while helping support emerging developers from the Slow Game Club community.
  • Co-op Game Club: We've added three four-player co-op games for members to play together over the holidays.
  • Unboxing Edition: The Unboxing Edition adds physical indie gaming goodies to your Slow Game Club experience, including goodies from our partners, art prints from the Into Games community and Slow Game Club branded merchandise.
How does Slow Game Club 2027 work?

You'll receive a Steam key for a new Slow Game Club game each month on the first of the month, from January-December 2027, for a total of twelve games.

You'll also have access to the Slow Game Club Discord, where you can discuss the monthly game with other members, take part in community activities and join our developer events.

The 2027 experience also includes a live podcast with the developers of every title, and new developer AMAs - a 45-minute Discord-exclusive session with each game's developer following the monthly podcast.

The exact timing of keys, podcasts and AMAs will be communicated to members throughout the year.

How much does Slow Game Club 2027 cost?

The 2027 Early Bird Bundle costs £89. This is the special Early Bird offer available during the initial launch period and constitutes a £30 discount from the full price of each component. This is the biggest discount we will ever give for a Slow Game Club product.

The Early Bird Bundle will be available until 29 October 2026, subject to availability. After this date, we'll announce the next 2027 membership options.

Can I pay monthly for Slow Game Club 2027?

No. There will not be a monthly subscription option for Slow Game Club 2027. However, there will be payment plans available for those who wish to split the annual membership over up to 4 months.

I'm already a Slow Game Club member. Do I need to do anything?

Yes. Your 2026 membership does not automatically continue into 2027. If you want to join Slow Game Club for 2027, you'll need to purchase a 2027 membership.

The Early Bird Bundle is currently the way to secure your 2027 membership.

When does the 2027 membership start?

Your 2027 membership covers the 2027 Slow Game Club programme, which runs from 1st January 2027 to 31st December 2027.

More information about the exact first-game delivery date and 2027 programme schedule will be provided to members as we approach the new year.

The Games

What kind of games will be included in 2027?

Great ones.

The 2027 Slow Game Club theme is "Stories only games can tell". We're focusing on indie games that do something exceptional with storytelling - whether that's through writing, characters, worldbuilding, atmosphere, structure, visual storytelling, player choice or completely unconventional approaches to narrative.

Our goal is simple: every game should be something we're genuinely excited to recommend.

How many games will I get?

You'll receive one featured Slow Game Club game each month for a year as part of your membership, for a total of twelve games. That means a full year of monthly indie games.

Your 2027 membership may also include additional games through the Co-op Game Club and Micro-Indies Add-on depending on the product you've purchased.

Will I know what games I'm getting?

We'll announce three selected games in advance, but Slow Game Club is also about discovery.

We'll reveal games throughout the year as part of our rollout, with members receiving more information about each title when it is announced. Most games will remain undisclosed until closer to their release within the club.

Are the games new releases?

Slow Game Club focuses on exceptional indie games rather than simply games released in a particular month, however every single game in the 2027 Slow Game Club membership will have been released commercially in 2026.

For 2027, we're looking for the best narrative-driven indie experiences from across the indie games scene.

What genres are included?

There isn't one fixed genre.

Because we're focused on stories only games can tell, you can expect variety. That might mean adventure games, RPGs, comedy, horror, puzzle games, exploration games, narrative experiments, strategy games or something that doesn't fit neatly into a genre at all.

The common thread is great storytelling.

Are the games suitable for everyone?

Slow Game Club isn't designed as a family or children's games subscription and should be purchased only by those who are over eighteen years of age.

Individual games may contain mature themes or have age ratings appropriate to their content. We'll provide information about each game so that members can decide whether a particular title is right for them.

What platform are the games on?

Slow Game Club games are delivered as Global Steam keys and are intended for PC.

Many Steam games also work on compatible handheld PCs such as Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, although compatibility and performance can vary by game.

For the best experience, we recommend playing Slow Game Club games on PC. The club does not currently provide console versions.

Do I need a Steam account?

Yes. Slow Game Club games are provided as Steam keys, so you'll need a Steam account to redeem and play them.

Can I play the games on Steam Deck?

Many Slow Game Club games can be played on Steam Deck and other Steam-compatible handheld PCs.

However, compatibility varies from game to game and we can't guarantee that every title will run perfectly on every device. The best experience is generally on a PC.

Getting Your Games

When will I receive my game?

Your monthly game will be delivered digitally via the email address associated with your Slow Game Club membership on the first day of every month in 2027.

We'll provide members with information about each month's game and when the key is available.

What if I haven't received my game key?

First, check:

  • your spam or junk folder
  • that you're checking the email address you used when signing up
  • whether the email has been filtered into a Promotions or similar folder

If you still can't find your key, contact the Slow Game Club team at slowgameclub@intogames.org or ask for help in the member Discord.

What happens if I join after the year has started?

You'll receive all of the previous games available in the 2027 membership from the point you join. However, you may have missed some community activity, podcasts or discussions from earlier in the year.

We'll provide further information about exactly how late-year joining works when the 2027 membership options open beyond Early Bird.

What happens if I already own one of the games?

Because Slow Game Club games are delivered as Steam keys, we can't offer refunds or exchanges for games you already own.

However, you can give your unused key to a friend. You can also use the Slow Game Club community to offer a duplicate key to another member, subject to our community guidelines.

Can I give my game key to someone else?

Yes. Steam keys can generally be gifted provided they haven't already been redeemed.

If you receive a game you already own, we'd encourage you to pass the key on to someone else rather than let it go unused.

Discord & Community

What's included in the Slow Game Club Discord?

The Slow Game Club Discord is the home of the club community. It's where members can:

  • discuss each month's game
  • share recommendations and reviews
  • take part in community conversations
  • join developer events
  • ask questions about the monthly game
  • meet other people who love indie games
  • take part in special community activities

The Discord is included with membership.

What are the developer AMAs?

This is one of the biggest changes for 2027.

For every featured Slow Game Club game, we'll host a 45-minute Discord-exclusive AMA with the developer. It's an opportunity to go beyond simply playing the game and actually hear from the people who made it.

You can ask questions about:

  • the game's development
  • characters and story
  • design decisions
  • inspiration
  • art and music
  • development challenges
  • the indie development process
  • anything else you'd like to know

The AMA will take place directly after the monthly podcast.

Do I have to attend the podcast live?

No. We'll share information about the events with members, and we'll make recordings available where possible for members who can't attend live.

Because Slow Game Club is run from the UK, live events are generally scheduled around UK time.

Are the podcasts still happening?

Yes. The monthly developer podcast remains an important part of Slow Game Club.

For 2027, the podcast will be followed by the new 45-minute Discord-exclusive developer AMA, giving members another opportunity to get involved directly with the people behind each game.

Do I have to use Discord?

No - but you'll miss out on a part of the Slow Game Club experience if you don't.

Your monthly game can be delivered without you actively participating in Discord, but the community, developer AMAs and much of the discussion around each game take place there.

Micro-Indies Add-on

What is the Micro-Indies Add-on?

The Micro-Indies Add-on is a new way to discover tiny, undiscovered indie games while directly supporting emerging developers.

These are games that might not otherwise get much attention - including games created by developers from within the wider Slow Game Club community.

It's designed to be a little extra discovery alongside the main Slow Game Club programme.

What kind of games are included in the Micro-Indies Add-on?

The add-on focuses on small, independently made games.

Don't expect another 12 big monthly releases. Instead, think of it as a chance to discover games from developers who are at an earlier stage of their journey - often games you may never have encountered otherwise.

Why should I get the Micro-Indies Add-on?

If you like finding games before everyone else does, this is for you.

It also means your purchase helps us put more money and attention into the wider indie development community. You'll get additional games to play, while helping us support developers who are still finding their audience.

Is the Micro-Indies Add-on included in membership?

The Micro-Indies Add-on is an additional product alongside the core Slow Game Club membership.

If you've purchased a bundle that includes it, you'll receive the add-on as part of that purchase.

Co-op Game Club

What is Co-op Game Club?

Co-op Game Club is a new Slow Game Club experience designed for playing together.

It includes three four-player co-op indie games for members to play over the holidays. Grab some friends, jump into Discord and play something together.

These titles will be made available prior to the full membership on 1st January. There will be no developer podcasts or discussion group, but we will implement some player matching on the Slow Game Club Discord Server.

How many games are included in Co-op Game Club?

There are three four-player co-op games included, all recent releases from acclaimed developers.

Do I need four Slow Game Club memberships to play?

No. The idea is that you can play the games with friends or other players.

The games themselves may have their own requirements around multiplayer access, so we'll provide the relevant information for each title.

When can I play the Co-op Game Club games?

The Co-op Game Club is designed specifically for holiday multiplayer gaming, with the three games intended to give members something fun to play together over the festive period.

We'll provide the exact games and redemption information to members.

Unboxing Edition

What is the Unboxing Edition?

The Unboxing Edition is the physical side of Slow Game Club.

As well as the digital games and community experience, it includes a selection of indie gaming goodies. The box will feature things such as:

  • indie gaming goodies from our partners
  • commissioned art prints from the Into Games community
  • Slow Game Club branded merchandise
  • other surprises

It's designed to give you something physical to go alongside your year of games.

Is the Unboxing Edition just merchandise?

No. The aim is for the Unboxing Edition to be a curated collection of indie gaming and Slow Game Club goodies, rather than simply a box of branded merchandise.

We'll reveal more of the contents as we get closer to launch.

Will every Unboxing Edition be the same?

We'll confirm the final contents and format closer to dispatch. Some elements may vary depending on partner contributions and availability.

When will I receive my Unboxing Edition?

We'll provide confirmed dispatch information to members ahead of fulfilment. All orders will be shipped and delivered in time for the holidays.

The physical box is separate from your monthly digital game delivery, so you don't need to wait for your box to receive your monthly Steam games.

Can I buy an Unboxing Edition without joining Slow Game Club?

No. The Unboxing Edition is only available alongside Slow Game Club.

We'll announce the standalone purchasing options for the Unboxing Edition when those products go on sale. During the current Early Bird period, the £89 Early Bird Bundle is the primary 2027 offer.

International Members

Is Slow Game Club available outside the UK?

Yes. Anyone can join Slow Game Club and the Steam keys can be used internationally, subject to Steam's own regional restrictions where applicable.

The Slow Game Club team is based in the UK, so live events and community activities will generally operate on UK time, but may shift to accommodate global developer teams.

If purchasing from China, please note that some Steam key restrictions may apply on no more than two of the 2027 Slow Game Club titles. This is still to be determined and future updates will be communicated as they are available.

Recordings will be made available where possible for members who can't attend live.

Can I pay from outside the UK?

Yes. Payment options and available currencies will be shown at checkout. Slow Game Club supports international members and PayPal payments in different currencies.

Will physical Unboxing Editions be shipped internationally?

The Unboxing Edition can be shipped to the UK, USA, and select countries in Europe. If it is showing as "sold out" on the product page, it may be unavailable in your region.

Membership, Gifting & Cancellation

Can I buy Slow Game Club as a gift?

Yes. Slow Game Club makes a great gift for anyone who loves discovering indie games.

For 2027, we'll provide more information about gifting options as the different membership products become available.

Can I buy multiple memberships for my company or team?

Yes. We can arrange larger purchases for businesses, teams and organisations.

For corporate or bulk orders, contact the Slow Game Club team directly at slowgameclub@intogames.org

Can I cancel my membership?

The 2027 Early Bird Bundle is a one-off purchase for the 2027 Slow Game Club programme. It does not automatically renew.

Will my membership automatically renew?

No. Your 2027 Slow Game Club membership is a one-off purchase and will not automatically renew.

Can I get a refund?

Because Slow Game Club includes digital game keys and other digital content, refunds may be limited once digital content has been supplied or redeemed.

Please see our full terms and conditions for details when purchasing.

After that, we'll move to the next stage of 2027 sales and announce the available membership products.

Why should I buy Early Bird?

The Early Bird Bundle is the first opportunity to secure your place in the 2027 Slow Game Club programme at £89, the biggest discount we will ever offer on Slow Game Club 2027, and exclusive to existing members.

It's also the current way to get involved before the wider 2027 products are launched.

Is there a limit to the number of Early Bird memberships?

Yes. Initially, we have a limited number of just 100 Early Bird Bundles available.
